Nicki Chapman has unveiled the results of a garden makeover in her West London home, describing the newly revamped outdoor space as a ‘perfect piece of paradise’.

The Escape to the Country and Chelsea Flower Show presenter waved goodbye to her tropical-themed ‘high impact, low maintenance’ garden for an exciting new green space where she could work and entertain.

Former Pop Idol judge Nicki enlisted the help of multi award-winning garden designer and landscaper, Mark Gregory, to design a space that she could ‘escape into’, plus enjoy drinks with friends, catch the evening sunlight, and delight in planting with year-round interest.

Nicki told her Instagram followers: ‘Last year we decided to overhaul the garden and go for a new design. Like so many others, we’re spending more and more time in ours which is an absolute joy. This was the final goodbye… sad to see it go after 13 years of tranquility but excited about the new green space!’

The new wildlife-friendly courtyard garden is a practical space with lots of colour and privacy. Highlights include a bespoke water feature designed by Mark’s company Landform and fabricated by Outdoor Design, alongside bee-friendly lavender plants, euphorbia, stylish Atelier Vierkant pots, outdoor furniture including chairs and sun loungers, large hornbeams to provide privacy, and a barbecue area for entertaining.

Revealing the final design in a second video, Nicki said: ‘Massive thank you to @markgregory1960 and the @landformuk team for creating a perfect piece of paradise for us. I’m thrilled with the end result and know I will have hours and hours of pleasure pottering around and enjoying this special place.’
